Our purpose is to create an environment where children are active participants in their own learning. We aim to provide a safe space that encourages shared control between teachers and the children. They will be partners in the learning experience. We recognize that children construct knowledge through direct, immediate experiences with objects, people, ideas, and events, and thus we aspire to support their learning by creating an environment that encourages children to explore, discover, experiment with engaging materials, and interactions with adults and peers. Through active learning our children will build academic, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills.
Our vision is to raise awareness of the importance of a child’s formative years. We want to boost the standard of learning for young children by showing the importance of active learning and play. Play is a right, a necessity, and foundational. It leads to learning executive functional skills. We want to encourage parental involvement. We also hope to embolden teachers in their willingness to question their certainties and become models rather than a source.
Learning is not a matter of adults giving information to children, but rather a process of shared control in which children make discoveries through direct experience with people, objects, events, and ideas. Preschoolers make plans and follow through on their interests and intentions as they build their knowledge and skills. They should be allowed to learn at their own pace through exploration and play. LEAP preschools program will include active learning rather than passive Careers, and provide concrete encounters with the world through play and language development. LEAP preschools curriculum will cover all aspects of a child’s development, including physical, social, and emotional development; language and literacy, mathematics and science; and the creative arts. As we aim to have our students explore and experience all that is relevant to their lives
At LEAP our main goal is to equip children with the right tools to make them lifelong learners. We will not only focus on the child’s intellectual development, but also their social and emotional development. We believe in active, authentic learning where the children will construct their own learning by doing and being involved in working with materials, people, and ideas. We at LEAP believe in the importance of creating a community. We want to start a movement that encourages the building of a collaborative community where everyone and anyone can provide support. Ultimately, we want our children to enter school ready and eager to learn. More importantly, we want our children to leave LEAP engrained with the eagerness to be creative thinkers, with an open and stimulated mind.
